ℹ️ This article applies to the new scoring system, introduced on 18 May 2026. If you do not know which system your organization uses, contact your admin.
Your group score shows how your group performed as a whole during a season.
It gives all group members a fair score, even if someone joined late or was temporarily inactive.
Group score uses earned XP and possible XP
The group score uses this calculation:
Total XP earned ÷ total XP possible
- XP earned: the total season score earned by all group members during the season.
- XP possible: the total XP group members could have earned during the slots available to them.
XP possible is the group’s maximum score for the season.
For example: if one member has four available slots and each slot has 1,000 XP, that member has 4,000 XP possible.
The group score is always a percentage. It shows how much of the available XP your group earned.
Eligibility keeps the group score fair
Not every group member has the same available slots.
A member only adds XP possible for slots available to them. This keeps the group score fair in three situations:
- Late joiners: a member who joins halfway through the season only adds XP possible from the moment they join. They do not lower the group score for earlier slots.
- Paused users: a paused member does not add XP possible during the pause. They do not lower the group score while they cannot play.
- Deactivated users: a deactivated member no longer counts towards the group score. They do not lower the group score after they are deactivated.
ℹ️ Only admins can pause or deactivate a user.
Inactive invited members can lower the group score
An invited member who never plays still adds XP possible each slot.
Their XP earned stays at zero, so they lower the group score.
This is intentional because it reflects the group’s actual participation rate.
Example group score calculation
This example uses:
- 3 group members
- Weekly cadence
- 1,000 XP per slot
- 4-week season
| Member | Eligible slots | XP possible | XP earned |
|---|---|---|---|
| Anna | 4 | 4,000 XP | 3,800 XP |
| Ben, joined week 3 | 2 | 2,000 XP | 1,900 XP |
| Clara, paused week 2–3 | 2 | 2,000 XP | 1,600 XP |
| Total | 8,000 XP | 7,300 XP |
Group score: 7,300 ÷ 8,000 = 91.25%
ℹ️ Ben joined halfway through the season. His group score impact only matches the slots he was eligible for. The group does not lose score because he started late.
Group scores affect the group competition
Group scores appear on the leaderboard alongside individual scores.
At the end of a season, the group with the highest score wins the group competition.
