Guardey supports Single Sign-On (SSO) with Microsoft and Google accounts, enhancing security by reducing password usage and simplifying access management for IT teams. No technical setup is required within the Guardey platform itself, though your Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace administrator may need to approve access before users can log in.
How users log in
On the Guardey login screen, users can select:
- Login with Microsoft
- Login with Google
Once successfully authenticated, Guardey will automatically use SSO for all future sessions.
Why administrator approval may be required
While no configuration is needed in Guardey itself, your IT administrator must approve the Guardey Login app in your Microsoft or Google environment. Without this approval, users cannot authenticate via SSO.
We recommend testing SSO with a single user first. If login is blocked or users receive admin approval prompts, your IT team will need to complete the setup steps below.
Microsoft 365: Approving SSO access
For Microsoft environments, the administrator must grant permission to the Guardey login application in Azure Active Directory.
Note: This is separate from the Guardey Azure AD integration.
Recommended approach:
The Azure administrator should simply attempt to sign in at my.guardey.com using the login with Microsoft button. The Guardey login app will automatically appear under all applications in your Azure environment.
Important: Do not click + New application*,* this is unnecessary and may cause issues.
In most cases, the manual steps below are not needed if your Azure administrator simply attempts to log in using login with Microsoft.
Manual steps for Azure AD admin (if needed):
Step 1: Go to https://portal.azure.com
Step 2: Select Azure Active Directory from the left menu
Step 3: Open Enterprise applications
Step 4: Search for Guardey login
Step 5: Click the app, navigate to permissions, and select grant admin consent
Google Workspace: Approving SSO access
For Google accounts, your Google Workspace administrator must approve the Guardey app in the Admin Console.
Steps for Google Workspace admin:
Step 1: Go to https://admin.google.com
Step 2: Navigate to apps > web and mobile apps
Step 3: Find or search for Guardey
Step 4: Open access settings and ensure access is allowed for users
Fallback login option
Guardey also supports traditional email and password authentication as an alternative when SSO is unavailable or when administrator approval is still pending.
