Guardey gives you flexibility in how your leaderboard is ranked. As an admin, you can decide what type of score matters most, whether that’s overall XP, Loyalty XP for consistency, or Seasonal XP to promote fair competition within each season.
Available ranking types
You can choose from the following ranking types for your organization’s leaderboard:
XP (Experience Points)
Ranks users based on all XP earned by answering challenge questions.
Best for: Highlighting raw performance and activity levels.
Loyalty XP
Ranks users based on how consistently they participate in challenges (e.g. weekly streaks).
Best for: Promoting long-term engagement and rewarding consistency.
Seasonal XP
Ranks users based on XP earned during the current season (XP + Loyalty XP).
Best for: Seasonal leaderboards and time-bound competitions.
How to configure leaderboard rankings
- Go to My organization in the admin portal.
- Click Settings.
- Open the Game tab.
- Under Leaderboards, find Ranking criteria.
- Select your preferred score type from the dropdown:
- XP
- Loyalty XP
- Seasonal XP
- Click Save.
ℹ️ The ranking change applies immediately to all organization leaderboards.
How this impacts leaderboard views
Your selected ranking type will apply to the Organization leaderboard. Other leaderboard views behave differently:
Leaderboard View | Ranking Basis |
---|---|
Organization | Based on selected score type (XP / Loyalty XP / Seasonal XP) |
My Group | Based on selected score type (XP / Loyalty XP / Seasonal XP) |
Group vs Group | Average XP per group |
Worldwide | XP (doesn’t get effected by the ranking settings) |
Best practices for choosing a ranking type
- Choose XP if you want to reward activity and performance at all levels.
- Choose Loyalty XP if you're focused on encouraging regular participation and weekly habits.
- Choose Seasonal XP if you're running seasonal competitions and want to give everyone a fresh start and chances each season.
